After 3 Triathons I am feeling good and am more confident I can do and IronMan by 2010. I ain’t looking to win. I just want to finish mid pack. For the Last 3 triathlon here were my times:

Race # Finish Time Swim Plc SwimTime Trn1 Plc Trans #1 Bike ST Time Bike Plc Bike Time Bike Rate Cum Plc Cum Time Trn2 Plc Trans #2 Run Plc Run Time Pace /mile
3 1:16:13 167 8:11 104 2:33 10:43 132 26:37 18.0 132 37:20 227 2:26 236 36:28 12:10
2 1:11:57 18 7:39 19 3:14 10:52 17 26:28 18.1 17 37:20 25 3:15 24 31:23 10:28
1 1:18:43 31 8:44 30 3:13 11:57 31 30:10 15.9 32 42:07 27 1:32 35 35:06 11:42

The 2nd race was my best time over all.  I was sick for a couple weeks before the 3rd, so my training suffered.  On the 3rd, I tanked on the run.  Right before the transition between the bike and the run, there is a huge hill.  The mistake I made was to really pump up the hill.  I flew up the hill, but it killed my energy for the run.  I ended up walked for about 3/4 of a mile of the run.  I just didn’t have the energy.  So I will need to pace my self.  The swim was ok, but I need to train more on the swim.  I didn’t cramp at all, so the core/ab workouts are giving me more ab strength which is good. I got nervous on the swim.  I started off free style, but I began to lose my breath a little so I started breast stroke.  I need to do some more swimming so I feel more prepared.

One thing I noticed: On the second tri I used a friends 20lb specialized bike and kept 18 mph average.  On the 3rd tri I used my 42lb Raleigh and kept the same speed.  This means my legs are getting stronger and the pedal straps have made a big difference.  Once I save enough money to get a proper Cannondale, I am going to fly !!!
