It's by John Bingham, a guy who writes for Runner's World, and it so sums up the attitude that we crazy runners and triathletes have to have! Congratulations! My only marathon was in june and it only had about 250 finishers. it was also the first time i did not finish dead last. but i hit the pain at mile 17, and it carried straight through the wall at mile 23. nobody knows what happens to your body and mind 23 miles into a marathon until you have done one. welcome to the club! be sure you get enough hydration during recovery. i take 3 bottles of water at the finish line immediately. recover well brother.
